We stayed for 2 weeks (3 july - 17 july 2010) had a fabulous time. Our little boy (nearly 4) loved the caravan. it was clean and tidy and there is loads of storage space. When we saw the brochure we thought it was a nice tidy park but on arrival it was more than what we expected. there was amusements, gift shop, cafe, butterfly house, puzzle hedge, tea room and a fab hotel The old Court who do the best chips ever!!! everyone we met onsite were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Loved it and will definately be back . Thanks Sterrets!!!

Have stayed here before which was a better visit.

Stayed 01st June for one night with friends, we didn't pre-book. But on arrival no sign of Warden, waited 5 minutes but decided that as we had a canoe trip booked we would go to where I had pitched last time, leave the cars and see if the Warden was around before we went on our trip.

Warden was there, but straight away he came across very grumpy and incoherant. We advised where we had parked and we had a canoe trip. Straight away he said we had to see him before we should have gone on site.. I stated to him we tried but where was he. After a laborious five minutes we manged to book in, He seemed ok where we had put the vehicles.

Carried on with canoe trip and got back, set up tent etc. The warden appeared and with no regard said we couldn't pitch the tent there and had to move to the field. Considering I had previously stopped there and had pitched in the same spot I was a little suprised and considering it was pretty empty did try to talk to him, the Warden simply was unapproachable.

Later that evening my friends made the mistake of setting up their coal barbeque which is ground shielded and raised to protect grass. 10pm Warden suddenly turns up in his car with headlights pointed directly to us, and in no uncertain terms along the lines of either get that out or get off my site. Again pointless talking to him. Yes we appreciate that we made a mistake with the barbeque but there are much better ways to people especially customers.

Since my last visit 3 years ago, the toilet block has been freshened up, for using the local canoe centre it should be the best campsite, unfortunelty the Warden ruined what was to have been a couple of days break, Originally we were thinking of staying 2 nights, thankfully we hadn't booked the second night so left the next morning.

Would we go back, going to have to say it this present time NO. Can I recommend it again have to say not at this time.

In 22 years of camping in the UK, France and Germany never had this sort of experince. Such a shame that a site is let down by one of its Staff.

Thank you for taking time to leave your comments but I am sorry that you did not have a good experience. I am pleased that you have visited previously and now find the site much improved. As you say, the actions of a member of staff, and not the site itself, spoilt your visit.

I can only apologise that my staff spoilt your stay. I have spoken to the person concerned and he accepts that he was in the wrong and behaved badly. You agree that you sited your barbeque wrongly but that does no excuse my warden's attitude towards you. In mittigation I would add that he has been dealing with personal problems but this should not have happened.
